“You’re one of the most interesting grown-ups I know.”
— my 9-year-old housemate

Hello! And welcome. I am an interdisciplinary artist, facilitator, friend, and instigator of collective experiences living rurally on Wabanaki homelands in what is colonially known as midcoast Maine. My work weaves together traditional and contemporary media—design, installation, printmaking, participatory performance, and event production—with facilitation, cultural organizing, mutual aid, and reaching for each other through the fog of modernity.

“Devon finds the pulse several layers beneath a community or space and attunes to it.”

Equality interested in the subtle and the profound, I invite individuals and communities to discover new ways of seeing, being, and connecting. I am devoted to strengthening and expanding our collective creative capacity which is necessary for liberatory world-building and culture-making.

“As a collaborator, one of my favorite things about Devon is how much space for emergence, play, and truth-telling they make. They possess the unique confidence of one who can freely start from the beginning with an "I don't know but let's see what comes!" Whether they are building spaces for us to practice into our full humanity, or inviting us into their world of strange and beautiful art pieces, Devon's work possesses a prophetic belief that something else is possible.”

I was born and raised in Vermont, hold a BFA in Communications Design & Cultural Studies (2007) from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY., have lived in cities and rurally, and have 20 years of experience as a working artist (10 of those self-employed). I orient towards interdependence, a spirit of invitation, queerness in all the ways, Jewish time, casual mysticism, beauty as a tool for accessibility, and finding the path while walking it.
